MISSING TECHNOLOGY

I sold my camera. My Nikon D5000. I realized photography wasn't for me and I am planning to just settle for less. A simple digital camera would be nice. I think its just right for my blogging adventures where I get to capture moments easily and conveniently. Previous photos from my daughters moving up program were shot by Richard Tuazon a freelance photographer and a close friend of mine. He is also the one who bought my camera.

Aside from my camera, I am also missing my cellphone. I gave away my Nokia N73 to my niece as a Christmas present last year. So now Im using a Nokia 1209 . A simple phone just right for SMS and phonecalls. No camera, no radio, no wifi. Which got me  confused...

Since we are planning for a new camera, I am eyeing for the simple Sony Bloggie PM5. Or I'll just upgrade my cellphone to an all in one gadget like the Nokia Phones where I can capture photos and videos, call and text, wifi to blog, and an mp3 player?

My husband likes the Sony videocam. I just forgot the model. But its a new one where its already 1080p HD. 160 HDD and some other features that makes me drool.

Im missing technology and I dont know which one to get.

EMILYS' MOVING UP PROGRAM

My daughter is studying at The Little Childrens School at Dimasalang, Manila as a Pre Nursery. She just enrolled a few months ago and yesterday is their Moving Up Program.

The theme of this event is the Little Childrens School version of Michael Jacksons "This Is It". They have been practicing this for the entire month of March. All the kids have their numbers from Hugs and Tugs to Champs.

Emilys got a special award. She got the "Excellence in Bodily/Kinesthetics Intelligence". Nhil and I went to the stage to give the award to her and we are so damn PROUD of it! Haha! My first daughters first award (and my first time to give an award too!)

Thank You to Ninong Richard to cover the event. I havent converted the files yet but will publish more photos ASAP. Thank You to Ninang Malou for coming and Tita Susan, and Tita Marie, and Ate Liezel, and Ate Tintin. This means a lot for Emily.

After the event, we went to SM Manila and ate at Gerrys Grill. Tito Basti was there so we got a 10% discount on all the food yey!
The day is so exhausting and memorable for me as a mom. Everything about this event is "first time" and my husband and I super enjoyed it. I missed Ashly though. She was left in the house with Lola Sary. Good thing that she behaved well daw while we were out. She just slept the whole afternoon so Lola Sary is not so tired of her.

So here are the photos and video that I could share muna this time. Will publish more this week... There is also the schools official photographer, I will also contact the school this summer on how I could get a copy of their shots..

Emily in her Gala Uniform

"This is it!"

"One Hungry Family"

And here is emilys video of their dance presentation. Dancing in the tune of Michael Jacksons "Wanna Be Startin Something". Sorry for the low quality video, I sold the DSLR already so we used the old Sony Videocam that uses a tape to record, we just played it on TV again and then capture it "again" with a Digicam before I get to transfer it here. I request you to finish the video to the end because Emily is so active on the later part of the presentation. Shes so cute and brilliant!!!

Thank you for watching!

PINAY MOM JOURNAL

Wow! My first hosted blog! So excited!

I changed both the title and the URL from "The LHEN Life"and lorindadeguzman.co.cc to this new PINAY MOM JOURNAL.

This is my free writing website. My days will be published and everything that is happening about me as a mom, a wife and as a person. No Niche, Just me and my not so boring but happy life.

I may be the only one reading my blog posts but its okay. Practicing my writing skills will benefit me anyways.

Since this site has already its own domain, this will be my priority blog where my other blogs will be featured whenever I have made a new post.

And of course the stories about the happenings in my life, rants, adventures, vacations, everything will be posted whenever I feel like it. haha! I still need to find time to manage the words juggling in my head sometimes in order to finish an article that is worth to read.

RICHARD TUAZON - A SECOND CAPTURE

A friend of mine is in to photography right now. He is actually the one who referred me to this online store where i bought my first DSLR. Well this blog isn't about my DSLR and not about my photos. Its about my friend Richard Tuazon who followed his passion with this very expensive and addictive hobby of photography.

He bought Nikon D3000 last November to be into photography. Also bought accessories and lenses afterwards. After a month he enrolled in a photography class where he just graduated a few days ago. I tell you he's really into this passion because his works are really amazing!!! Its getting better everytime he posted his shots on his facebook account. And I envy him a lot!!! Hahaha! I am really proud of him!

On his graduation day on that photography class, all of them are required to have an entry to a photo contest. And here are his two winner photos:

I guess it is indeed true that if you follow your core gift, focus on it and you will definitely succeed...

And oh btw, he is going to get married on July 10, 2010 to Ms. Malou Agcopra (very lucky, uhm.. or should I say.... Lucky Richard!! haha!!) and my daughter Emily is going to be one of their flower girls (exciting noh?!)

Cheers to you Chard, to your future wife, and to Your Success!!!

Richards Facebook account. Hes got a lot of picture to share here. To those who wants to add him, he is really nice. I believe he can cover an event already, he's really talented and very focused on what he wants. You know whats another best thing about him? He is a soldier of God.. Go add him... be his friend and he will make you as proud as I am...

This article is posted first on my personal website. I reposted it here because Richard is one of those many Filipinos who pursue their gift. People who enjoy life. Those who follow their passion and succeed. The following are more of the photos taken by my friend Richard at the Mall of Asia during the World Pyro Olympics.

Yes, the last photo is Him...

And he is going to buy my Nikon D5000 for an upgrade from his Nikon D3000. So Im about to say goodbye to my DSLR now and pass it on to the man who truly deserves it...

WHITE STOCKINGS

Emilys Moving Up program in school will be on Saturday, Mar27. It will be held at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. The theme is Michael Jacksons This Is IT! I am so excited for Emily.

They are busy in school practicing their number. the school has sent me a letter needing my consent to bring Emily on the venue of their graduation to practice on the actual stage. Their classes starting on Monday will be from 8am to 11 am instead of the usual 1pm to 4 pm. Its gonna be hard for me to wake Emily up because she is so used to waking up late like 11am - 12NN.

they also have their dress rehearsals on thursday. I have no idea what are they gonna do because its all a surprise for the parents. I already bought a white stockings for Emily to wear on her graduation day.

CHARICE - A PYRAMID OF SUPPORT FOR YOU!

One of our most talented kababayan. Another "Proudly Pinoy"! Charice. She had gone a long long way.

I remember watching her on TV. She was just then a contestant in a singing competition. I already admired her and I am really watching out for her every week. I was pregnant that time for my first daughter. I so love her voice. I am one of those people who cried with her when she lost. But I believed that shes got great future already because the Philippines has seen her talent.

I guessed I was right. When I started seeing her doing commercials, TV guesting, and lots of breathtaking youtube videos where she got her fortune of being known for her talent. I am a fan eversince. Listening to her songs, watching her videos, following her in every social networks she was in. I have seen her grew up since that local singing contests to a Korean talent show, from Ellen Degeneres to Oprah, from Celine Dions concert to meeting a lot of Hollywood personalities. Charice has made her way to the top of the Pyramid.

From the proud PinayMom, Mabuhay ka Charice!

"pyramid" lyrics

charice feat. iyaz

Shawty’s love is like a pyramid (ooh)
We stand together till the very end (eh ooh)
There’ll never be another love for sure (ooh)
Iyaz and Charice let we go

Verse 1:
Stones, heavy like the love you've shown (shown)
Solid as the ground we've known (known)
And I just wanna carry on
We took it from the bottom up (no no no)
And even in a desert storm (yeah)
Sturdy as a rock we hold (oh)
Wishing every moment froze
Now I just wanna let you know
Earthquakes can't shake us
Cyclones can't break us
Hurricanes can't take away our love

Chorus:
Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock
It feels just like it's heaven's touch
Together at the top, like a pyramid
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep on going
Forever we will stay, like a pyramid

Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh (ooh)
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh (ooh)
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh eh (oooh)

Verse 2:
Cold (cold), never ever when you're close (close)
We will never let it fold (fold)
A story that was never told
Something like a mystery
And every step we took we've grown
Look how fast the time has flown
A journey to a place unknown
We're going down in history
Earthquakes can't shake us
Cyclones can't break us (oh)
Hurricanes can't take away our love

Chorus:
Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock
It feels just like it's heaven's touch
Together at the top, like a pyramid
And even when the wind is blowing (wind is blowing)
We'll never fall just keep it going (keep it going)
Forever we will stay, like a pyramid (eh oh)

Like a pyramid girl I'ma show you
That I love you so much
That we gonna get through oh
Even when it storms
I will never go
I'ma be the one to keep you safe heh
Four walls of love
Packing more than enough
Holding onto one another
Be the cover when it's rough
Mother Nature or disaster
Won't stop our happy ever after

Pyramid
Keep it going
Oh Oh Oh Oh Ohhh

Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock (solid rock)
It feels just like it's heaven's touch (Ohhhhh)
Together at the top, like a pyramid (like a pyramid)
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep it going (keep it going)
Forever we will stay, like a pyramid

Pyramid, keep it going (like a pyramid, like a pyramid)
Oh oh ooooh (like a pyramid, like a pyramid)

Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock (solid rock)
It feels just like it's heaven's touch (oooh)
Together at the top (at the top baby, at the top girl), like a pyramid
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep on going (keep it going)
Forever we will stay (Charice), like a pyramid (what what)

Pyramid, we built this on a solid rock
It feels just like it's heaven's touch
Together at the top (at the top baby, at the top girl), like a pyramid (pyramid)
And even when the wind is blowing
We'll never fall just keep it going
Forever we will stay (ooh), like a pyramid

Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh
Like a pyramid like a pyramid eh eh

OUR MANNY PACQUIAO DID IT AGAIN!

I know this article is so late because a lot of topics about this is already flowing on the internet and that this article might be found at the last page of the results if you entered "Manny Pacquiao" on that search box.

But does it matter to me? Well as a blogger yes, because that means no income at all for my blog. But as a Filipino, NO. This will be the first time that I am going to write about Manny Pacquiao. And what the h*ll if Im on the last page anyway.

I didn't watch the whole fight you know, Im busy dealing with lots of html trying to customize my template while Manny is busy punching Joshua Clottey. I get to look on the TV whenever I go downstairs and drink a glass of water.

I saw on some glimpse that the fight is not held at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Its the first time that it is held at  the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. I heard someone saying "Is that in Araneta?" while watching the fight in our store. It looked like Araneta though much bigger.

One of my friend from Plurk said that maybe Manny watched too much FPJ movies before the fight. Hmm.. Im wondering why. So I searched some videos on the internet and there I saw why he said it. This blog is not about bragging how great Manny Pacquiao is because we all know that. Its not about his riches or mistress (shhh I know nothing!)

This is just simply about Manny Pacquiao, our fellow Filipino, who again raised our flag to the world.

Mabuhay ka Manny! You are an inspiration.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Today is my husbands birthday. He doesnt know that I'm blogging about it haha! And he doesn't care anyways.

But its celebrated yesterday. We bought some ingredients for a spaghetti last Saturday. He cooked it yesterday and served it to our lady boarders. I bought a cake at Goldilocks but that is for Ashly naman for her 1 month old birthday celebration.

Nhil gave 1 bottle of The Bar for the girls and everyone had fun. Eventhough its a Sunday night and all of them got classes tomorrow, We all get to bond on this one special night where;
  1. Nhil get to celebrate his birthday
  2. It is so new for the boarders that he gets to talk to them and serve them and gave them a bottle of Vodka
  3. I was able to stay with the girls for a few hours because that seldom happens also
  4. We watched the replay of the Oscars
  5. And Nicole, one of our borders got drunk. Shes so RED!
I didnt drink of course because Im not allowed to. I am still breastfeeding Ashly.

Happy Birthday Daddy...

LOIS ASHLY AT 1 MONTH

Ashly is so "taba" na today.

She is so "matakaw" After I breastfeed her she would still cry and make you prepare a 2oz formula milk and she will drink them all. She sleeps all day and cries all night. huhuhu.

She always starts crying usually from 11PM to 2AM. Thats why I wasnt able to write on my blogs for a few days. I am also starting to fetch Emily at school. Good thing that I can go out now. I missed riding on a jeepney . In those hours, I got to escape from Ashly. Lola Sary is taking care of her when I leave.

She is so chubby na. She got her 2nd shot of Hepa B na rin. Her Pedia gave her some vitamins. I cut her nails na this morning so her hands are free from mittens. She eats her hands na whenever shes hungry.

She can see me na also because I notice her eyeballs following my face when I talk to her.

Haayz.. Ashly.. Dont grow up so fast....

NANAY

I just remembered my mom today. I missed her so much. I saw her last valentines when they went here to see Ashly. I dont know if Im just being a melodramatic daughter here but I just suddenly  felt being a daughter to her again.
I just missed her so much that I really wanna go to Bicutan and visit. But I can't. Sadly, I can't do anything about it. I have to be here and be a Mom for Ashly and Emily. Nhil won't even allow me to go which makes my sudden longing for Nanay worst.

Sometimes I don't seem to be existing. My day only consist of waking up in the morning and bathe Ashly, then Emily afterwards, Fix Emily's hair for school, then be with Ashly again while writing some blogs or searching for something to blog or edit my ebook whenever my mentor see some mistakes or my classmates in IMW. Then heres Emily from school and put her to sleep. Then blog again or do some research about social networking because I really need to do something with my blog to earn. Im also studying article writing now. Practicing to improve my writing and sell online. Ashly gave me a hard time during midnight, where she always cry for like every 5 minutes. We are like that for like an hour before she goes to sleep soundly... and wakes me up again whenever shes hungry.

So thats just  basically my day. I spend most of it with Asly. Maybe thats why I so miss my Mom today...

I really want to go home and see her....

KAPIDAMU BAND from Atimonan Quezon - PILIPINAS GOT TALENT

Hi Everyone!

I just finished watching Pilipinas Got Talent today and these band got my attention.

They are the KAPIDAMU band from Atimonan, Quezon. KAPIDAMU stands for Kabataang Pinag- isang Damdamin sa Musika ( Youths United with Passion on Music). Composed of 5 boys. 3 of them were cousins. They are so cute and talented! youngest of them is Ryan 10 years old and he's got some great voice and talent on keyboard! Actually, all of them were really talented because at their very young age they get to play these instruments and whats more amazing with them is that they sang they're originally composed song! What can you say about that huh! A cute little band of 10 - 16 years old playing they're original song and enjoying while performing this on stage. Its even they're first time to join a competition and yet, they nailed it like a PRO!!!

They got a great future awaiting for them. I laughed at FMG ( one of the judges ) because he was so hesitant at first that these guys are going to make it and then after their number he was so speechless!!! He even said that KAPIDAMU means "nagkakape habang kumakain ng damo (drinking coffee while eating grass) Haha! Anyways all of the judges went hesitant when the kids said that they are going to sing their composed song, until after they performed that all of the judges praised these kids because they really are so talented.

Parents of these kids will definitely be proud of them! Even I, was so proud of them though im not a relative but being a Filipino, These people really make my advocacy that Filipinos were GREAT!!! I pray that my kids will be like them.

Anyways without any further adieu. Here is the video of the KAPIDAMU band from yesterdays (march 6, 2010) episode of Pilipinas Got Talent.

thank you ejayrockstar17 for uploading this video..

Filipino wins Google Map Maker contest

MANILA, Philippines  - A 23-year-old "citizen cartographer" from the University of the Philippines bested 700 other contestants to become the winner of the first Google Map Maker Global Competition.
Wayne Dell Manuel won a US$50,000 donation from UNICEF for the Philippines after adding more than 1,500 qualifying map features and made hundreds of moderations in Google Map Maker. His edits, which were primarily of local public schools, were judged to be the most numerous and accurate entries in the contest.
"I'm so excited to have won this global competition because it represents a win not just for me, but also for the Philippines," said Manuel. "To be frank, I entered the competition to win the US$50,000 for our country, and I hope that my win encourages more Filipinos to contribute to making the online map of our country even better. We Filipinos are known for our spirit of bayanihan, and this is a great way for us to come together in the Internet era to make life better for our fellow kababayans by literally putting their communities on the digital map."
The competition was launched to encourage the use of technology for community development by asking users to map universities, schools, hospitals and medical clinics in their home countries. The goal was to help humanitarian organizations better deliver services, respond to crises, and adapt to change in the countries they operate by enabling access to accurate digital maps.
Manuel, a software developer at the UP National Telehealth Center, started using Google Map Maker in 2008 and initially edited streets, establishments, and municipalities in his hometowns of Tuguegarao and Baguio City. Later, he added most of the roads in Tarlac City, Tarlac; Angeles City, Pampanga and Tacloban City, Leyte. He has been recognized globally as one of the top 10 all-time mappers with nearly 35,000 map edits under his belt.
"Maps have always interested me because they help me get acquainted with places I’ve never seen before. As soon as I heard about Google Map Maker, I immediately joined and found that its interface is very intuitive and user-friendly. I love the feeling of putting together something that would be useful to many people," he said.
Jennifer Mazzon, Community Organizer for Google Maps, said Manuel's contributions are invaluable for people who rely on geographic information, which is import during times of natural disaster.
"Even though the contest period is over, the mapping effort for the Philippines is only beginning. There are still many places that are in need of accurate details and we hope that even more Filipinos will use Google Map Maker to share their knowledge about their hometowns with the world," Mazzon said.

Manuel said he will continue editing in Google Map Maker even after the competition because there are still many unmapped areas in the Philippines.
He also recalled how his contributions helped many people when Typhoon Ondoy hit the country last September. “After Ondoy, a volunteer group used Google Maps to map distress calls and facilitate rescue operations. I was so happy to see that the roads I helped place on Google Map Maker, later pushed to Google Maps, were used to locate fellow Filipinos who needed help," he said.

You Should Create Multiple Income Streams by Bo Sanchez

The ballgame of earning money doesn’t change.
In good times or in bad, you still have to create multiple income streams.
Whether the economy is flying or diving, growing or shrinking, it’s still not wise to depend on your job as your only source of income.
Let me tell you the story of three friends—Joel, Martina, and Phillip.
Joel was laid-off last year. He got hit by the sub-prime crisis in the US.
Martina got laid-off three years ago, not because the economy was bad, but because it was good. Her company was doing so well, a bigger company bought it—and booted her out.
Phillip lost his job not because of the economy or because of a merger, but because of a personal conflict. He lost his job simply because his boss didn’t like him. He was forced to resign.
You see, it doesn’t matter whether there’s a recession or not. It doesn’t matter if the stock market is crashing or rising.
Your goal is to have multiple income streams.
So that you’re not dependent on your job.
I want you to enjoy what I enjoy now. After years of working on them, I have 16 income streams flowing into my life.
            Hey, you don’t need 16.
You just need 2 or 3 or 4 to experience a big difference in your finances. Perhaps a small business. Perhaps a rental property. Perhaps a stock investment. Etcetera.
How do you begin? Keep your day job, and start a business or an investment on the side.
In my visits to the US and Canada, I’ve met so many people who have 2 jobs. They work 16 hours a day. Some of them even have a third job—by working on Saturdays and Sundays.
I always tell them that the better alternative is to have one job, and then try setting up a small business or investment on the side.
In 2010, pray for an additional income stream to open up for you.
Make it a daily prayer intention.
This is my goal for creating the TrulyRichClub.
Through the TrulyRichClub, I encourage its Gold members to create multiple income streams. Constantly, I inspire them with ideas and share important strategies to create many sources of income.
How do I do this? I expand their faith. I stretch their thinking. Exclusive Gold members of the TrulyRichClub receive two of my audio PowerTalks every month and a weekly WealthStrategies newsletter. (Plus much, much more!)
I’ll be your coach. I’ll keep pushing you until you act. Gold Members of theTrulyRichClub receive a constant stream of inspiration and information to push you to pursue your financial dreams.
For more information on the TrulyRichClub, click the link below:

May your dreams come true,

PS. The TrulyRichClub itself can be an income stream for you. It’s too long for me to explain here. You can just check it out by clicking the link below:

EZRA BAND - PILIPINAS GOT TALENT

I just saw this band on Pilipinas Got Talent last Sunday Feb28 while I was helping my husband in our store. I must say they really got talent!!!

What is special about Ezra Band is that this band from Davao City, has a girl vocalist named Kaye and a differently-abled keyboard player named Nor. Their rendition of “Wonderful Tonight” wowed the judges.

Billy is so right when he said that these band were really BLESSED with their talents and Nor is  very very inspiring.

Good Luck to them and I hope they make it to the Grand Finals. I might be posting more of the videos from Pilipinas Got talent or any other talent shows which I think has got something special on them and will make their talents change their lives...
