41st NATIONAL MARKETING CONFERENCE

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing at the University of the East - Manila. I never worked in a company though, because my boyfriend (now my husband) and I started a business - an internet cafe.

But going way back my college years, I once became a part of an inter-school tri-media competition where we won the first place. So I thought, even though that I am a work-at-home mom and that I never really went into big companies, still, I need to enhance this knowledge and develop the wisdom of marketing in me. I am an online entrepreneur now and I wanted to grow more in the field of marketing.

Good news is that the Philippine Marketing Association is organizing the 41st National Marketing Conference and I really really really wanted to become part of it. This is a two-day event and will be held on June 24-25, 2010 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, Pasay City. Search Profile Index will be launched there and is also a sponsor.

If I get to go here, It will be one hell of a weekend for me because I will definitely learn new things that will help me market my business in all means even if I am only at home. As an online entrepreneur, I aim to be rich and wealthy the rest of my life.

The Day1 of this event is already exciting just by spotting the name of my President elect, Benigno Aquino III. Day 2 topics will be more interesting for me because its all about the marketplace and I believe that I will learn more on positioning my online business in the market. I really look forward at the learning sessions on Day2.

I really hope could be there as a delegate for free ^_^ My handycam is ready in "hyperspeed"

A LOVE LETTER

I made a love letter for my husband six months ago and kept it. I never showed it to him definitely because of  few things like I am shy to give it to him or he might find it too corny and just laugh at it, and I myself find it really corny to write a love letter for my husband. I mean its not a casual thing for us. Its not as casual as arguing against each other though. But really, I don't know what I was thinking six months ago while writing that letter.

I could still remember when I planned to write that letter. I have this ready made scrapbook for sweethearts that I bought in a bookstore. It is filled with cheesy blank details that you need to fill up about you and your partner. Its got a lot of mushy poems and lots of spaces provided for different pictures from different places or occasions that you two have been together. Its really romantic for romantic couples and very corny for in denial couples (like us!).

What happened is that, I tear off every page of this scrapbook because I cannot finish it anymore. I won't be able to handle a situation when somebody would read it and then tease me with all the cheesiness of this scrapbook.I threw all those pages that I already used/answered with a lot of corny moments haha!

I just found this one page where I read a poem that I think we could relate to and what I did is that, I wrote a love letter for my husband at the back of this poem and then kept it for six months.

Until last night, that I gave this letter to him as my fathers day gift for him. Just want to share with you the poem (no, not the letter! haha!) that is written on this page:

"When Our Love Was Put To The Test"
Ellen Brenneman

We've had our ups and downs,
but through it all,
I've never stopped loving you.
I never could.
That's because the very things
that made me love you in the beginning
will always make me love you...
in fact, some of the biggest differences we've had
are the things that drew us together.
That must be because we need each other...
and not just in a romantic way,
but in every way that's possible
for two people to be close and to care.
I just want to say that even though
we've had some tough times,
I love you...
that will never change.

DISCIPLINE WITHOUT SHOUTING OR SPANKING

Emily is now three years and 5 months old. The age of her naughtiness and some bad behaviors are showing up. Well, as a mom, I need to do something with her misbehaviors without hurting her in any way.

As a child, I admit that I grew up with a father who spanks me every time I commit a mistake and that did not do anything good on me but be scared to all the fathers in the world. I always had a thinking that fathers are bad and that all of them are capable of hurting you. Good thing that as I grew up, I learn about forgiveness and let go of the grudge I have been holding against the fathers of the world.

I don't want that to happen on my kids. I know I could be capable of hurting because that is how I grew up but I really must do something to prevent it.

When Emily is on her baddest I tend to breathe deeply and then tell my husband that my patience is already on its end and please get Emily out of my sight so that I could control my feelings when I get mad.

Theres also this one book that I got and I am so happy with it and I want to share it to my readers. This book is very helpful for very impatient or not so patient moms/parents like me. The Discipline Without Shouting or Spanking: Practical Solutions to the Most Common Preschool Behavior Problems. As I read the book, I realized that there are really other ways of training your kids and making their bad behaviors turn into a more positive attitude.

This book is really awesome and I would like to thank the authors Jerry Wyvkoff, Ph.D. and Barbara C. Unell for creating it. The approach are very simple yet effective. I tried several methods already and it reall works for me and Emily. Makes more of our quality time together.

I am so thankful that I found a way on working this out earlier so I wouldn't miss any moment of joy and quaity time with my daughter.

To share a little preview and make you think that really need this book, here are some problem behaviors common to preschoolers that can be solved by following the methods form this book:

  • Aggressive behavior
  • Behaving hyly
  • Being a couch potato (my emily is like this before but not anymore...)
  • Destroying property
  • "Hyper" activity
  • Interacting with strangers
  • Jealousy
  • Lying
  • Messiness
  • Not Sharing (the not so cool attitude for me)
  • Resisting Bed Time
  • Wandering away in public
  • Whining
  • AND A WHOLE LOT MORE...
So grab a copy of this book now and believe me the Discipline Without Shouting or Spanking: Practical Solutions to the Most Common Preschool Behavior Problems ebook will really change your life as a mom or as a pre school teacher as well.

This book is very cheap for a lot of things to learn and a lot of things to enjoy with your pre schoolers. I really recommend this to all the parents. My husband is not a book reader so I just teach him what to do now following this book when he is the one having a hard time dealing with Emilys behavior sometimes haha!
